Another five star review. Thank you!

It was filled with humorous experiences and also sad ones. I enjoyed reading it, learning that as my grandmother said, “Getting old is hard work!”

Nothing comes easy, and especially not aging. Thank you to this reader/reviewer who got my book!

ANOTHER FABULOUS REVIEW!!!

on October 25, 2017
Format: Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is nuch too short, which is the only thing I have againt it. Short, pithy chapters, full of wisdom and wit and always with a little twist that moves you deeply and makes you reflect back about your own experiene. Take for example the hilariously funny and so poignant chapter about Becker’s mother. At the age of 87, sufferring from Parkinson’s disease and living in an assisted-living facility, she meets a younger, 84-year-old wrack of a man and they happily get married. Ms Becker dubs him G.I. Joe, because he had served in the Korean War. He makes serious plans to take his bride out of the facility after the wedding and move in with his daughter-in-law. Sadly, that was not to be, becuase G.I. Joe died of a broken heart – “he wanted his manhood and independence back so badly” (p. 35). Or take the “Shoes Again” chapter, which develops from what seems to be a frivolous, girlish preoccupation with footwear into a major lesson in human relationship, in fact leading to the most significant relationship of Ms Becker’s life, with her future second husband. “I am a woman, and therefore, I am defined by my footwear. How do I know? Because once, when I started a new job, a whole year and three months passed before a colleague spoke to me, and the first words she ever said to me were, ‘Oh, what cute shoes!'” Everything they say about the book in rhe reviews is spot on. But it’s much more than enjoyable, it is also a hugely satisfying book. Read it with close attention and you will get a lot of good tips for your own life changes. We do hope to hear more o Jacqueline Becker in the future.

THE INTERNET IS AMAZING AND EVERYONE, IN MY OPINION, SHOULD OWN FACEBOOK STOCK! Get ready to join me for a book talk. Time and place TBA!

Here is how it works:  I posted here on wordpress and on Facebook and LinkedIn about my podcast.  (The rabbi who interviewed me, found me from my Facebook postings).    Another rabbi heard the podcast and found my email address from the organization’s flyer.  She emailed me and asked me to present some time in December. I will post details so that all my former colleagues can come since it will be near the district.  The internet is amazing.   I am really not tech savvy.   I am, however, an incredible networker and the network is called a network for a reason!!!!!

Another one! Thank you!

“Jackie hits “the nail on the head” with this very funny, true to this passage of life, collection of anecdotal short stories. It makes the perfect gift for all my peers! I’ve already shared it with dozens of very appreciative recipients worldwide! EVERYONE will LOVE this easy and amusing, uplifting ,cheerful
read!  A great view on aging that we can all relate to. Yeh!!!!!! Well done Jackie Becker!”

THANK YOU!!!!

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS REVIEW!

Florence rossi

It doesn’t matter whether you are kvetching about a family gathering for a Seder or feeling the pressure of preparing Christmas dinner we can all relate to the telling tales in Jackie’s book about aging. The funny,heart-warming chapters speak to us and for us in a way that only Jackie can. Thank you Jackie for telling “our” stories in a very enjoyable book!
While my book is steeped in my Jewish culture, I am so glad to know that I succeeded in getting across the universality of aging and being a grandmother and all that comes with this role!  TY for this review!

THANK YOU, DENISE KASS! BOOK REVIEWS MATTER!

This review is written by Denise Kass
A funny, honest, straight forward look into the glory of aging. Jackie presents us with a mirror into our own lives as we laugh and sometimes even choke up as we travel along on her shoulder as she traverses the terrains of loving, caring, maintaining, organizing the comfortable, scary moments to moments of getting older with pizzaz. A book, once you pickup, you read through to the end where everyone is stitched back together to create her loving family.

Another rave review by Lizzy F on Amazon. Thank you Lizzy F!

“I laughed my way through this hysterical book with profound messages. Bravo Jacqueline Becker .Similar to the series “Grace and Franky”, raging against aging describes the experience of aging with wit and wisdom.”
This review means so much to me.

ANOTHER GREAT REVIEW but not on Amazon yet!

“I purchased the book on Amazon which arrived in 2 days.  Laughing (and crying all the way). Your honesty, humor and love of life with all its bitter-sweet contradictions and challenges, is apparent on every page.”

THIS READER GAVE ME 5 STARS!

I highly recommend and encourage women to read “Raging Against Aging” by Jacqueline Becker! Delightful, funny and realistic! An easy read and perfect for relaxing . A laugh out loud book that many of us can relate to as we age. Includes perspectives of the good, bad and ugly aspects of life that we will all experience one day….in a most humorous way! I love that Jacqueline might not remember her contemporaries names in her exercise class but can name their ailments as they stretch and kvetch! I know what book to purchase for my friends for those milestone birthdays and upcoming holidays!
